Hafu desu is a creative collective for those creating unabashed representation and equity — our creatives invite and share compelling narratives of in-betweenness because their superpowers grew from that space of pain, discomfort, awkwardness, and forced expression of identity and necessary creativity to deal with their discomfort.
Inspired by “hafu desu”—Japanese for “I’m half”—our studio embraces hybridity, collaboration, and care to tell stories from the margins. We’re reimagining creative work as regenerative, people-powered, and unapologetically collective.
